The Giver

The Giver Interview OneStudent Question: My teachers argue over the ending of The Giver! How does it really end?Lois Lowry: It ends with Jonas and Gabriel going downhill in a sled toward a house with welcoming lights. Ho ho ho. Aren't I a mean author, not to be more specific? I like it when you argue. It makes you think. The Giver Interview TwoThe book ends on an ambiguous note, as Lowry leaves it up to readers to decide what happens to Jonas. "I saw it as an optimistic ending. I didn't feel the need to further explain it, or go on with a sequel," Lowry said. "What I like about provocative books in general is that they allow readers to bring their own beliefs, political as well as religious, to the fiction, to fit them in, to find the symbolism."      In my opinion, Jonas dies. I feel this way because when Jonas fell to his knee i think he passed out and died but all of the lights and music where just an illusion. Also he had a sudden burst of happiness that encouraged him to get up and keep going. But it was all in his head. All in all, Jonas die in the snow with Gabrial in his arms

Effects of Advertising in Teens

Advertising has a lot of affects on teen culture.  The biggest influence on teen culture is fashion for girls. All the fashion commercials and magazines use the ethos method of advertising. Celebrities like Miley Cyris, Britny spears, and Justin Bieber are using the all new robot dog. Then all the teens want to get the robot dog because a famous person uses it.
There is also how advertising effects music in teen culture. On TV channels like MTV can take an unknown band, advertise them all over and in a matter of weeks they are the biggest band in America. The reason why is because teens love anything on MTV. Even dumb things like Jersey Shore.
Next, there is the "cool" factor for teens. Mostly all teens want to be cool and get all the girls/guys. An example of this is the Axe commercials. In the commercial once the guy puts on Axe all the ladies are all over him. And this makes the teens buy their product. Then with girls is a beautiful model wear a type of perfume and the teens that buy the perfume think they will be like the model.
Advertising is everywhere and we don't even notice. Teens are mostly on the internet so that is where all the advertisers put their ads. The advertisements are on big websites like YouTube  Facebook, and even Pandora Radio. Then the teens are eating up whatever they are advertising.

NEW YEARS

When I reflect on the past year of 2012 I have learned a lot. The main thing I learned was how to play ice hockey. 2012 was the first year I started to play ice hockey. I first started on the in-house team called the Huskies, and then I played on the travel team the Jags.
For my New Year’s resolution would like to:
\    Get better at hockey
\    Get stronger
\    Get on the ice hockey team next year
\    Become taller

Learning Style

According to Gardner and Gregorc test I am a Logical-Mathematical and Concrete Random learner. I think  this could help my learning in school because the teachers would know I don't like to read and i prefer to learn with numbers and puzzles. My favorite subject is math in school (after Rogate).Plus this would help the teachers understand me better.
Some role models i look up to are my hockey coach, my teachers, and The President of The United States of America. Some day I
want to the president of the U.S.A.

I play ice hockey for the Jags B travel team at The Igloo in Mount Laurel. I only ride dirt bike a little now because the place I rode got shut down by the government. I also enjoy TV and Movies.
